Coastal Football Academy began in 2019 with a simple vision: to provide high-quality, personalised coaching to footballers striving to improve and reach the next level. What started with a small group of sessions on the Sunshine Coast has grown into a dynamic development program supporting players across South East Queensland.
Over the years, we’ve helped players build strong foundations, develop advanced techniques, and grow in confidence—both on and off the pitch. We've proudly supported athletes as they’ve progressed through the football pyramid, earned selection in representative squads, and developed the technical and tactical ability required to compete at the highest level.
We’re excited to announce that Coastal Football Academy will now operate out of Ripley Valley State Secondary College. This marks a new and exciting chapter, and we’re incredibly grateful for the support from RVSSC. We look forward to working within the region to help more players unlock their full potential on the field.

Founder and coach of Coastal FA, Dane leads with experience, intensity, and a standard of excellence shaped by over a decade in high-performance environments.
With an AFC A Diploma, Dane has coached at state and regional levels, developed talent across age groups, and built a reputation for delivering sessions that demand focus, quality, and accountability.

With experience playing and training alongside professionals — including players with time at clubs like Liverpool FC — Luke brings a deep understanding of the goalkeeper position and a player-first coaching style shaped by elite environments.

The Coastal Development Academy is designed for players who are committed to improving their game and building a strong technical foundation. This group training environment focuses on individual skill development, confidence building, and football intelligence in a supportive yet challenging setting.
Sessions run on Monday & Wednesday afternoons from 3:30 PM to 4:30 PM at Ripley Valley State Secondary College and are structured around core technical skills, small-sided scenarios, and progressive drills that help players grow both on and off the ball.
Whether you're aiming to move into our Elite Academy or simply want to sharpen your game, this program provides the perfect platform to take the next step in your football journey.
Cost:
$25 per session (paid weekly)
$20 per session ($200) if you pay for the entire term upfront
(1 session a week for 10 weeks).

The Coastal Elite Academy is an invite-only program designed for high-performing players who demonstrate strong technical ability, tactical awareness, and a commitment to excellence.
Sessions run on Friday afternoons from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Ripley Valley State Secondary College and provide a high-intensity environment focused on advanced player development.
This program is tailored to challenge and refine each athlete's game through elite-level drills, scenario-based learning, and professional feedback.
Cost:
$25 per session (paid weekly)
$20 per session ($200) if you pay for the entire term upfront (10 weeks).

Whether you're aiming to progress into higher levels of competition or simply want to sharpen your ability between the sticks, this program provides the ideal platform to grow as a modern goalkeeper.

At Coastal Football Academy, our match analysis service provides players with a detailed breakdown of their in-game performance to accelerate development and build tactical awareness. Each analysis includes a personalised video breakdown of the key moments:
- In possession – Decision-making, movement, and execution on the ball
- Out of possession – Defensive positioning, pressing, and spatial awareness
- In contest – Duels, transitions, and reactions under pressure
Players receive clear, actionable feedback supported by match footage to help them understand their strengths, identify areas for improvement, and take ownership of their development.
One on One
At Coastal Football Academy, our individualised one-on-one sessions are built around each player’s unique development needs. Every session is designed with a tailored plan that targets specific areas for improvement, helping players grow with clarity and purpose.
We focus on refining both technical and tactical aspects of the game, including:
- Defending (position-specific techniques)
- Shooting & Finishing (final third effectiveness)
- Passing (short and long distribution)
- First Touch (control under pressure)
- Ball Mastery (confidence and control)
- Game Sense (through realistic, game-like scenarios)
- Speed, Agility & Strength (position-relevant physical development)
- Heading (technique and timing)
- Transition Play (quick decision-making between phases)

At Coastal Football Academy, our goalkeeper one-on-one sessions are built to develop confident, capable shot-stoppers through tailored, position-specific coaching. Every session is designed around the individual needs of the keeper — with a clear focus on technical precision, tactical understanding, and physical readiness.
We break down and refine the core components of elite goalkeeping, including:
- Shot-Stopping (angles, reactions, and handling)
- Footwork & Positioning (efficient movement and set shape)
- Distribution (throws, short/long passing, and playing out under pressure)
- 1v1 Situations (timing, bravery, and closing space)
- Aerial Control (dealing with crosses and high balls)
- Communication (leading the line and organising defenders)
- Speed, Agility & Strength (explosiveness and recovery)
- Game Awareness (decision-making in transition and build-up)
